Astana. June 18. KazTAG - Official opening of a new theatre of opera and ballet "Astana Opera" will take place on June 21.
"The opening will perform a classic national opera by Mukan Tulebayev "Birzhan and Sarah" on June 21," said Mukhtar Kul-Mukhammed, Minister of Culture and Information.
In his words, Chaikovskiy ballet "The sleeping beauty" will be performed on July 3.
"The world premier of the theatre will take place in October. It will be opened by Verdi opera "Attila" to be performed at Kazakh stage for the first time," he added.
Since 2014 the theatre will annually present 4 premiers: two operas and two ballets.
The area of "Astana Opera" makes 64 000 sq.m. The area of the main stage - 935 m. The theater has 1250 seats, orchestra stalls can receive 450 viewers.
